India will buy from Russia helicopters for the sum of 1,1 billion dollars
India will get at Russia 48 Mi-17-B5 helicopters for total amount of 1,1 billion dollars. As the TASS reports, the day before Council for defensive purchases of the republic approved this transaction.
"The contract for delivery of the Russian helicopters 48 of Mi-17-B5 helicopters on 70 billion rupees of/1,1 billion dollars / became largest of all package of proposals on acquisition of military equipment and arms which was the day before considered and approved at the next meeting of Council for defensive purchases", – noted in the country Ministry of Defence.
The Air Force of India already took advantage of 139 Mi-17 helicopters. Cars will be applied in regions with a difficult relief, from deserts to highlands along border with Pakistan and China. They make a basis of transport helicopter aircraft of the Air Force of the republic.
