Ye-GV
Two Tip 74 airframes, the Ye-6V/1 and Ye-6V/2, were modified to assess various positions for the tail chute container, to test several types of chutes, and to make jet-assisted takeoffs with solid propellant rockets. The Ye-6V had two tail chute canisters, one on the left side of the ventral fin and the other at the base of the tail fin. The latter position was retained on all MiG-2 Is starting with the PFM Both Ye-6V prototypes were also tested with wheel-ski compound gear Fedotov demonstrated jet-assisted takeoffs in the Ye-6V/2 at the Tushino air show on 9 July 1961.
