Two American fighters of the fifth generation F-22 arrived on Emari’s Estonian air base. About it on Friday, September 4, reports own source to "Lenty.Ra" in Estonia.

On September 2 there was information that in Emari one fighter should arrive only.

Four F-22 arrived for the first time to Europe on August 29, 2015. Planes arrived from Florida on German air base Shpangdalem. On August 31 two cars were thrown on air base Lask to Poland for check of possibility of placement of planes of this type in NATO airfields in Eastern Europe. These fighters also appeared in Emari.

The transfer was carried out within accepted by Washington «Initiatives on ensuring the European safety». It is supposed that planes will stay in Europe to the middle of September. The minister of the U.S. Air Force Deborah Li James declared that this step is reaction to actions of Moscow. «Military activity of Russia in Ukraine continues to cause big concern in us and our European allies», – she noted.

Emari’s airfield is located in the northwest of Estonia, it is the former Soviet air base of Suurkyul. Before a withdrawal of troops from Baltic (till 1993) Su-24 planes of the 170th separate sea assault aviaregiment of the Baltic fleet were based on it.
