Fight for the sky over Syria

As in Armenia estimate operation of the Russian VKS in Syria and dispute because of it between Moscow and Washington.

The decision of the Federation Council on use of the Russian VKS in Syria gives to the Syrian conflict concrete outlines and pursues two main tactical aims – protection of army of president Bashar Assad and a Kurdish militia against air attacks, and also support loyal to Assad of forces from air. In the global plan it only a part of strategy of Russia which purpose is finally transformation into the alternative center of force.

According to experts, the Russian armies in Syria stand to win, as cooperate both with the regional countries, and with governmental armies and Kurdish forces. In this plan of analogy to invasion of the Soviet armies into Afghanistan are inappropriate.

«It is logical. There, where appears the Russian military planes, forces of a coalition will not come. Skirmish or rigid opposition between them will take place otherwise that is improbable now», – Safarstyan told.

According to him, in this context Putin’s meeting with Obama on fields of an anniversary session of General Assembly of the United Nations showed that a certain mutual understanding between Moscow and Washington in the Syrian question is.

On the other hand, "hands" of the Kremlin in fight against so-called. «The Islamic state», unlike the USA, are free.

«The USA assisted in any plan to emergence of YOKES in the territory of Syria and supported to it in fight against Assad, and now when this organization got out of hand, Washington decided to punish, but not to destroy it.

In this plan of the USA operate against Islamists not so rigidly as this organization still is useful to them. Russia has no relation to creation of YOKES, in this regard the Russian armies conduct open and quite rigid fight against it», – the expert explained.

In addition, Russia operates in Syria not alone. It actively cooperates with Bashar Assad’s armies and forces of Iran.

– In case of Iran not everything is so simple. In Syria operate and armies of Iran, and the Hezbolla organization which Tehran supports are at war against Assad’s opponents not. Now it is one it powerful forces in a battlefield», – Ruben Safrastyan explained.

Concrete outlines

Presence of the Russian armies at Syria, the director of the Armenian scientific and educational fund "Noravank" Gagik Arutyunyan, legitimizirovano at level of heads of states, the main geopolitical actors, first of all, notes the USA.

«Russia needs to hope that the USA will not start to supply force of YOKES with PZRK systems to force down the Russian military planes. So they arrived during the Afghan war and helped Mujahideens. According to him, if to draw any parallels in history, it is possible to compare a today’s situation round Syria to a situation before the Second World War.

«Then the western powers led by England long time refused that together with the USSR to put up an united front against Hitlerite Germany. However subsequently, as we know, they were compelled to create an anti-Hitlerite coalition. The USA and their allies so persistently refused any interaction with Moscow for fight from YOKES, but with activization of the Russian presence at Syria the situation completely changes», – Arutyunyan explained.

Only part of strategy

Orientalist Ruben Safrastyan considers open participation of Russia in the Syrian conflict only as a part of strategy of Moscow on formation of alternative to the western domination.

«This strategy started to be shown at the beginning of events in Ukraine when Russia rigidly reacted and defended the interests. Now the Russian Federation protects the interests and positions in the Middle East. She created a new situation in the region. Moscow wishes to create the alternative center of force. It or not while it is not clear, but actions of Russia will be possible, in my opinion, are aimed at it», – Ruben Safrastyan concluded.
