The Russian aviainspection will check the sky over Greece

The Russian inspectors in a framework DON will check air space of Greece. It is necessary for safety between the states.

According to the acting as the chief of the national Center for reduction of nuclear danger of Ruslan Shishina, on September 28 the Russian aviainspection plans to carry out supervision over Gretsy, according to the Contract on the open sky (DON). Survey of the territory to last some days.

It will be the 31st flight for the purpose of studying of territories of the participating states of the international treaty in the current year and also to assist bigger openness and information transparency in military activity of these countries. Inspectors will depart by the Russian An-30B plane.

The maximum range of the observant flight which is carried out from the Greek airport of Nea Ankhialos, will make 1010 kilometers. Shishin noted that such flight will strengthen safety between the countries through mutual trust. For this purpose also the contract in 1992 by 34 participating countries of the Organization on safety and cooperation in Europe (OSCE) was signed. Russia approved this agreement in 2001.
