Why Russia puts airstrikes on YOKES?

The Russian aircraft struck on September 30 the first blows to positions of the Syrian extremist organizations, thereby having made the first armed intervention in the Syrian conflict.

Actions of Russia in the territory of Syria have accurate motivation. Russia not only walks in a waterway of the international fight against terrorism, but also increases own influence in Syria and on the Middle East.

Involvement of Russia in the Syrian conflict was promoted also by the changes which are observing in positions of Moscow and the West on the Syrian question. Vladimir Putin and Barack Obama met during the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations and agreed to continue cooperation in fight against terrorism. Experts say that the Russian intervention in fight from YOKES – one of results of negotiations of V. Putin and B. Obama in the USA.

Earlier the West led by the USA pressed for Bashar Assad’s resignations, declaring this condition indispensable for the solution of the Syrian problem. Now the West allows political settlement in Syria and before B. Assad’s resignation. As to Russia, it, as before, supports the incumbent president of SAR, but thus does not deny possibility of political reforming of the country. Thanks to such corrections of positions at resisting on the Syrian question of Russia and the USA there was a chance of a compromise concerning fight from YOKES.

The Russian military intervention in Syria was promoted by very modest successes in this area of the international coalition led by the USA and the problems of EU connected with a flow of refugees.

In support of the introduction of Russia fight from YOKES played not only serious motivation of Moscow, but also legitimacy of such actions. Syria confirmed that Bashar Assad addressed to V. Putin with a request to render the military help, including to direct energies of military aircraft.

Trying to disseminate fears of the West, Russia repeatedly emphasized that does not intend to participate in land operations in Syria. Besides, Russia became the initiator of creation of the channel of coordination of actions with the USA in order to avoid excesses in air space at carrying out operations against YOKES. Before the operation beginning Moscow providently notified Washington on the actions.

Experts note that the involvement of the Russian aircraft into fight from YOKES hardly will make critical impact on situation development, but it will be a clear signal about support of the Syrian government. Such step of Russia will facilitate a difficult situation in which there was B. Assad’s government in connection with activity of the armed opposition and extremists in the territory of Syria. In the conditions of a suspense of problems in the east of Ukraine and the anti-Russian sanctions of the West of Russia it is necessary to use a situation in Syria to show the influence and to finish diplomatic problems.
