Air Force of Russia and USA подружит sky of Syria

Today consultations of the Russian and American military of departments will begin, US Secretary of State John Kerri declared. Their main objective – adjustment of direct contacts in order to avoid collisions in air over Syria between the Russian and American pilots.

Military of Russia and the USA intend to avoid incidents in air with mutual participation, for this purpose they plan to communicate about the plans. According to the head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, contacts are already created, and armed forces will establish them in the nearest future. About coordination of actions and association of efforts on fight against «The Islamic state» and other terrorist groups of Laurels spoke with the colleagues and yesterday at UN Security Council meeting.

«The only thing that connects us with the USA, is the general enemy, «The Islamic state». Concerning other groups and concerning governmental armies at us absolutely different positions. Therefore now we should not disturb each other. We should bomb YOKES, but not touch an opposition position. Americans should bomb positions of YOKES, but not touch a position of governmental armies. It can become a certain base for our future relations across Syria», – the senior teacher of department of a political science of the Higher school of economy Leonid Isayev considers.

As the director of the Center of a strategic environment Ivan Konovalov considers, the Russian Air Force will be certainly more effective, than the planes of a coalition headed by the USA. There is a defining factor in the person of ground Syrian reconnaissance. The intelligence data simplifies everything, allows to set an accurate task. «When there are land forces which you support, the success, than if you fly here is much more probable and beat on points which allegedly are objects of fighters», – Konovalov is sure.

As to danger to the Russian Air Force, according to the expert, it is minimum. Serious means of antiaircraft defense of IGIL has no, terrorists have only the portable surface-to-air missile systems belonging to earlier Iraq army. They are presented though in a large number, but are ineffective. PZRK are capable to hit the target at distance to 4 km. If fighters work above, to them threatens nothing, if below, special means allow them to withdraw rockets in the parties. Thus ability of terrorists to use this weapon still causes questions, the expert considers.

As to scale of participation of the Russian military in operation in Syria, while it is difficult to speak about it. «Now we know that in Latakia on new base of the Russian Air Force some tens helicopters and planes are located. And it generally attack aircraft and helicopters of army aircraft. Just that is necessary for air operation. What quantity will be after all final is a decision behind the Ministry of Defence. It will reflect on what scale of offensive actions of air support Russia is ready. It is worth to remember that air military operation is rather expensive thing», – Konovalov reminds.
