The Russian VKS deprived of the USA of a superiority in the sky of Europe

The commander of the U.S. Air Force in Europe general Frank Gorents told to the Breaking Defense edition about growing force of the Russian aircraft. In a combination to modern systems of antiaircraft defense it excludes domination of America in air to which the American military so got used. In the changed conditions Gorents intends to concentrate on staff preparation in a format of "microdislocations" and to increase the American bases in Europe.

The commander of the American military and air forces in Europe general Frank Gorents declared in interview to the Breaking Defense edition that is extremely concerned achievements of the Russian Air Force.

«They liquidated own backlog», – he declares.

The special alarm for the USA is generated by that fact that Russia not only began to make air devices at similar technological level, but also strongly promoted in a question of creation of prohibited zones forces of land antiaircraft defense.

«Air threat is one business though she considerably grew from the Russian side, but it is obvious, as missile systems "the earth – air" became much cheaper and are more available», – Gorents explains. These modern antiaircraft systems are combined in such a manner that create high extent of protection against potential penetration into a zone of the American planes, notes the American edition.

Gorents allocates two main Russian zones of defeat of the opponent: peninsula of Crimea and Kaliningrad region. It already repeatedly drew attention to that fact that from Kaliningrad the Russian rockets can strike to a third of the Polish territory – so, NATO territories, Breaking Defense writes.

Earlier the problem of zones of the blocked access excited with the USA generally in the Pacific region. However it as is actual for Europe, Gorents emphasizes. First of all because blocking of access dulls the main striking power of the American military vehicle – aircraft. After all at least since 1991 in all conflicts in which the USA participated, they kept absolute control in air, as was guarantee of the American military success.

«With an air superiority everything is possible, without it – it is impossible anything», – Gorents argues.

In long-term prospect the Pentagon hopes again to escape forward in the technological plan. In medium-term prospect it is possible to rely on invisible planes which bypass the Russian radar. However the newest models of such planes as F-35, will appear on the American bases in Europe – first of all in Great Britain – only in 2020. And the fighters F-22 were quickly deployed in Europe, but already returned back to the USA, writes Breaking Defense.

The vast majority of the American and allied air forces fly by planes of the fourth generation which from a radar not to hide therefore preparation becomes a priority. In particular, Gorents hopes to develop tactics, methods and procedures for fight against rocket threat.

Instead of protecting existing military bases of the USA from bombings, the American Air Force intends to apply tactics of "microdislocations" and rotation of small groups of planes on various bases for the short periods, reports Breking Defense.

For this purpose Gorents intends to expand considerably quantity of minimum equipped bases round Russia. The initiative of Rapid X assumes possibility of carrying out air operations with use of unprepared airfields, ensuring air forces «in due time in the right place» becomes the main which criterion of a choice, the American general explains.
